The carbon composite / light alloy shaft enhances an already proven geometry by reducing weight & vibration (therefore fatigue), improving balance (more is concentrated at the pick) and reducing thermal conduction (hands stay warmer). Grivel's proven, one piece, hot forged steel head can do it all - self arrest, cut steps and stances and of course attack any steep alpine couloir. On ice the upper curved shaft provides extra clearance for bulges plus helps keep your fingers out of the snow on lower angle terrain. Handle sports comfortable natural rubber grip with finger grooves and full service steel spike for speed control while boot skiing back to camp. LONG LEASH is included but most will want the SINGLE SPRING LEASH, SLIDER and SHEATH for maximum versatility. TRIGGER & HORN or TECH LEASH can be added to easily convert your AIR TECH CARBON for a day of ice fall climbing. Pair with G10, G12 or AIR TECH Crampons for a 10% discount.
