PETZL
ASCENSION ASCENDER
B17SLN, B17SRG

New ergonomic grip is lightweight and easy to operate - ASCENSIONS were our choice for a 1 day ascent of Half Dome - way back in 1988. Since then these reliable performers have been further improved with a stronger 3D stamped frame, built in cam stop, ergonomic molded safety catch and comfortable molded grips. ASCENSIONS are designed for ease of use as well as comfort and offer a choice of hand position depending on the terrain. When full knuckle protection is needed opt for the soft plastic contoured grip. When the rope is not pressing your nose and your ascenders against the rock, hold the upper part of the frame in the palm of your hand to vary your grip. This allows you to easily "thumb" the cam while providing a restful "open handed" alternative to the traditional grip. For angled pitches, roofs and traverses that have a twisting effect on any ascenders, clip an OK SCREWGATE around the rope and then thru the upper biner holes for additional security. This same carabiner can connect the ASCENSION to a FIXED SIDE PULLEY to make a lightweight, efficient haul system. Comforting to know, the ASCENSION will survive a factor 1 fall and may also be used for self-belaying on a fixed rope. Detailed instructions and rigging tips included. UIAA, CE approved, UL Classified and meets NFPA 1983 (2001 ed) standards. Made in France, delivered anywhere in North America.
