The PIRANA is a variable friction rappel device designed for canyoneering and tactical applications. It's geometry provides 3 different braking options for low, medium and high friction - as dictated by the terrain and conditions. Wet ropes and free hanging descent? Use extra reeving points to increase your friction. Low angle slope? Rig for minimum resistance. Reeving posts can be used for tempory lock offs (be sure to clip a knoted loop of rope to your harness as a back up). Use with ropes from 8 to 13mm and Petzl A'MD or Attache Locking Carabiners - which are held snugly by the plastic insert in the small hole. Delivered any where in the US.
