SOLO-AID SELF BELAY DEVICE
| The SOLO-AID is specifically
designed to make the awesome task of soloing
big walls somewhat easier. This simple,
lightweight and compact device is your "3rd
hand" and attaches to your waist harness
to hold the rope firmly when weighted (so
positioning yourself on the rope feels similar
to using an adjustable daisy). This eliminates
the tedious task of repeatedly tightening
and loosening knots or keeping track of
a bunch of knotted loops clipped to to your
harness and always in the way. Manual rope
feed is necessary for progression to your
next piece - see manufacturers Instructions
(below) for all the details. Use on 10-11
mm dynamic rope. Don't forget your backup
knots... and to tie in short! |

WITHOUT ROPE DRAG! Eliminate
Rope drag when soloing by
wearing one of our JET
or STEALTH PACKS to carry your
rope, water and rack your gear.
Rather than having to pull up the
weight of the rope (plus drag) take
it with you! Tie a big knot in the
end of the rope (and every 15-20
feet) then flake loosely in the
pack. As you climb up, the rope
is pulled out of the pack, over
your shoulder and down through your
SOLO AID. Enjoy the extra freedom
& confidence knowing that the
slack end of your rope can't get
hung up - on a knob, in a crack
or around a bush. |
