ROCK EXOTICA SOLOIST self belay Device
| Here's the first device
designed specifically for belaying yourself
while solo leading. Special cam is contained
in one-piece milled housing and locks off
rope upon a fall. When moving up, rope feeds
through without drag common in other systems.
Internal surfaces are smooth and rope friendly
- curved cam interface provides the right
combination of pinching force and friction
to get the job done. Manufacturer recommends
backing up the SOLOIST with a safety knot
at regular intervals. Use on 10-11mm dynamic
rope with chest harness and tie directly
to harness with 4 feet of 9mm accessory
rope. Chest harness and pear shaped locking
carabiner required for use. Pre-tested to
2000 lb. Instructions included. |

Rope drag when soloing by
wearing one of our JET
or STEALTH PACKS to carry your
rope, water and rack your gear.
Rather than having to pull up the
weight of the rope (plus drag) take
it with you! Tie a big knot in the
end of the rope (and every 15-20
feet) then flake loosely in the
pack. As you climb up, the rope
is pulled out of the pack, over
your shoulder and down through your
SOLOIST. Enjoy the extra freedom
& confidence knowing that the
slack end of your rope can't get
hung up - on a knob, in a crack
or around a bush. |
