black diamond kNIFEBLADES
& BUGABOOS
| Blade pitons are
some of the thinest pro around. Key to holding
power is the "springy" high tensile
chromolly steel, precision ground taper and
the offset eye which imparts a torquing force
to the blade. An added lightning hole provides
options in horizontal cracks but generally
its better to clip into the offset eye. The
BUGABOO is a necessity in some areas (like
the Canadian Rockies) where fractured rock
produces a plethora of razor thin cracks.
Jedi Masters of Aid will stack KBs and BUGs
with other pitons to make a "nest"
that will support their weight. |
