Black Diamond
KNIFEBLADES & BUGABOOS
| Thin blade pitons
are necessary protection for opening new aid
and alpine routes where hairline cracks are
too small to accept micro nuts. Clip the eye
on the angled "leg" (rather than
the lighting hole) to impart torque and increase
holding power of each placement. Chromoly
steel assures repeated use and easier extraction.
When removing, pounding the piton in an upward
direction will make a "constructive scar"
that can be used by subsequent climbers -
possibly to place a non-destructive BALL NUT,
MICRO STOPPER or CAM HOOK. Made in USA. |
