Black Diamond PECKERS
Is it a crack hook,
cam blade or piton... or all three? PECKERs
are the solution to modern thin aid lines
where climbing "clean" becomes a
mix of wizardry, sleight of hand and earns
major respect. Three sizes for your rack -
one to fit perfectly above a constriction
in a thin crack... or be cammed into a horizontal
placement and tied it off at the lightening
hole. When opening new routes PECKERS can
be hammered into thin seams, leaving a scar
that may be micro-nutted on subsequent ascents.
You might also get away with tapping a PECKER
into a "dead head" saving cleaning
and sculpting a new placement... and praying
that it holds. This incredibly tough piton
has an offset ground blade, teeth for extra
grip and a clipable eye and a new swaged cable
sling which can be lifted out of the way for
cleaning.
