Imagine
having a single SLCD with an expansion range
equal to 3-5 of your current cams. Each
LINK CAM lobe has been trisected so that
it unfolds and permits a greater camming
range per size. Just what you want when
you are pumped at the crux or not sure what
to rack up with for that next back country
route.
This new invention of Greg Lowe's (LoweCams,
TriCams and a ton of other neat hardware)
is based on the proven single axle, constant
13.5 degree cam for optimum placement strength
and reliability. With Greg's LINK CAM design
each individual cam lobe is comprised of
3 segments or links - inner, middle and
outer. Which link engages with the rock
depends on the size of the crack... retract
all the way and the inner link supports
the load. When placed with the middle or
inner link engaged, the outer link(s) serve
as "outriggers" reducing the potential
for the LINK CAM to "walk" deeper
in the crack or out of place. Nice. LINKS
conform better to flared cracks and pockets
- again due to their awesome expansion range.
Inner two cam segments are metal injection
molded 17-4 stainless steel for strength
and durability, outer links are anodized
7000 series aluminum for lightness and quick
i.d. Fitted with plastic sheathed trigger
control wires and a 4" Dyneema sling.
For reference, LINK CAM #1 covers the range
of .5 CAMALOT to 1/8" over #1 CAMALOT;
LINK CAM #2 covers from .75 CAMALOT thru
just over a #2 CAMALOT. Expand your placement
options today!
