The MUTANT is a soft and sensitive suction fitted slipper that excels on steep rock or plastic bearing thin smears, dime edges and overhanging pockets . MUTANTS allow you to use your feet more like your hands - to grab, hook and pull in - keeping your body close to the rock... and over the holds. Notice the reverse shingle IRS back stay and dimpled heel cup - held securely by the hand applied tensioned heel rand. This combined with the single web strap pulls the arch and heel up and in to your skin and holds it there securely - nice when you are upside down horizontal a million miles above your pad.
Asymmetric, semi-rounded toe is comfortable, precise and should be fitted with your toes slightly flexed. Under foot is a unique variable thickness molded FS Quattro sole with a thin perimeter half midsole for firm support at the edge and soft sensitivity in the center. This is a slipper that you can wear continuously for bouldering circuits, sport pitches and even thin cracks - as the toe is unencumbered by laces or straps.
Split leather uppers have breathable elastic stretch panel combined with a fold over padded gusset for glove-like fit, easy in and out and good seal - handy when you boulder in areas with sandy landings.
