There are two features unique to the model - first is the midsole and second the closure. The STORMs versatility and performance is enhanced by a special "antomical" cutaway in the center of the mid-sole (picture a horseshoe shape) which allows you to "hang" an inside edge on or around a hold or to glom onto a big rounded knob. Thus the center is soft while the perimeter remains firm for precise edging. Also new is the MI Fit system - fast and sure - a cord / lace zig-zags over the foot and padded mesh tongue and is held snug by a Velcro closure. Adjust the cord once and forget it. Every time you put your STORMS on they will be precisely tensioned the way you like them.
