The ANGE series carabiners introduce a new lightweight design which incorporates Petzl's patented MonoFil wire gate - super skinny and minimal mass. New look, same ease of operation with advantages: The MonoFil is the only wire gate that utilizes a compression spring (similar to solid gate biners) for consistent feel and long life. Being skinny also has other advantages - less chance of gate "flutter" during a fall or the possibility of catching on rock or hardware and "opening" unexpectedly. The ANGES perfectly smooth Keylock nose is easy to clip (and unclip) without any possibility of snagging and the gate opening is nearly an inch wide. Best are the improved rope bearing surfaces - wider and more friendly to your rope and runners than any other carabiner of similar weight and dimension... and the subtle "speed bumps" that further prevent the FINESSE sling from migrating towards the gate.
